A long time ago, the barbarians passed thru thick and thin, in a generation of darkness. Our resources were low. Our hunts weren't as efficient due to rivalry within the family. We grew hungry. We grew cold.
We were without a leader to look up to.
...Quite a few of us have turned ill at the time.
...A handful of us died at the time.
This story starts during Wimp's legacy. She was our elder, a great source of inspiration to us all, and a great leader. She was one of the few who could plan ambushes to capture pray in such a fashion that a fatal mistake during a hunt was practically unheared of. All of the barbarians were happy with their way of life in those days... Until she got too tired to keep going.
She one day decided that it would be someone else's turn to guide the strong family of the barbarians to new heights. Her age was getting to her... Therefore, she summoned every last kin of the land and announced her stepping-down. Her heritage was given to a young guide named LordJalin.
LordJalin was a wide-eyed youngling, filled with energy and intelligence. He was an inspiration to all stray and young barbarians. Wimp knew LordJalin had the heart to take her place, but was a little worried about his lack of experience. She figured he'd learn as he'd grow older, but her presumptions led to a horrible mistake.
With pride and ambition, he claimed the role of the family leader.
For a while, LordJalin worked under Wimp's watchful eye. The bond between the family was as strong as ever. The hunts, the gatherings, the pride of being who we were... All stayed intact.
And so, Wimp let LordJalin do his bidding as he wished, after feeling that all was well. But soon after, LordJalin was already doing rash decisions. Without supervision, he was to do as he pleased. Wimp tried to keep him in order, but she couldn't anymore.
LordJalin led the path into confusion and mediocrity.
His inexperience costed us many troubles. Soon after, he just stopped caring altogether and vanished, leaving the family in shambles.
Without a leader, the barbarians were losing their essence. Many avoidable fights were started. Hunger and agression stepped in. We couldn't trust each other anymore; the cracks formed in our bond were getting quite deeper. Lives COULD have been spared...
And so stepped in Nomad, to put a stop to the dark times.
A large amount of us decided he was to be our new leader, and lead he did. He helped his family with all his heart. He loved us and wanted the best for us. With this in mind, and his iron will, he brought us out of the darkness we dwelled within and into a new golden age.
Today, as I write this, he is leaving the family.
His sucessor is LocoSam... Feeling that the family is in good hands, Nomad has left us... While our future remains unclear as always, one thing will never change: our past.
This man has done the impossible, helped by his love for his family.
The legacy of Nomad should never, and will not be forgotten.
